What this policy covers
This policy covers the information we collect through this website. It describes what we actually do, form by form. If a practice is not listed here, we do not do it.
We do not sell your personal information, and we do not share it with advertisers.
What we collect, and why
Newsletter
We collect your email address and your explicit opt in.
We use it to send you our Insights articles and occasional updates about our work. The legal basis is your consent, given by checking the box. You can withdraw it at any time, either through the unsubscribe link in any email or by writing to [email protected].
Free books and other downloads
When you request a free resource, such as our ebook, we collect your email address and a record of which resource you asked for.
We use it to deliver the resource and, if you opted in, to send you the newsletter. The legal basis is your consent.
Reflect on your current process
We collect your name, work email, company, and your answers about how your team delivers software today.
We use those answers to prepare a response about your delivery process and to get back to you. The legal basis is your consent, given when you submit the form. Marketing email is separate, and only reaches you if you check the marketing box as well.
Contact form
We collect your name, email, subject, and message.
We use them only to answer you. The legal basis is our legitimate interest in responding to someone who contacted us.
Job applications
We collect the information you provide in the application form, including your name, contact details, your LinkedIn profile, and your answers to the application questions.
We use that information to assess your application. The legal basis is the steps taken at your request before entering into a contract. Recruitment data is kept separate from our marketing systems, and applying does not subscribe you to anything.
Website usage
We use Google Analytics 4 to understand how the site is used, in aggregate. Analytics and other non essential cookies only load after you accept them in the cookie banner, which runs on CookieYes and the WordPress Consent API. You can change or withdraw your cookie choices at any time through the same banner.
Our servers and network provider keep technical logs, including IP addresses, as part of delivering and protecting the site.
Who processes your information with us
We use a small set of service providers. They process information on our behalf, under our instructions.
- HubSpot. Our CRM. Holds contacts who subscribed, requested a resource, or asked us to look at their process.
- Google. Analytics, Site Kit, Google Sheets for the recruitment pipeline, and email delivery.
- Amazon Web Services. Hosting for the website.
- Cloudflare. Network delivery and protection.
- CookieYes. Cookie consent banner and consent records.
- n8n. Moves form submissions from the website to the systems above.
Where your information goes
We are based in Canada and our providers operate in Canada and in the United States. If you are writing to us from Brazil, from Europe, or from anywhere else, your information will be transferred to and processed in those countries.
We only use providers that commit to protecting the information they process for us, and we send them only what is needed for the purpose described above.
How long we keep it
- Newsletter and marketing contacts. While your consent stands. Deleted after 24 months without any interaction, or as soon as you ask.
- Contact and process enquiries. While the conversation is open, and afterwards as part of your contact record under the rule above.
- Job applications. 12 months after the selection process ends, then deleted, unless you apply again.
- Transactional email logs. 14 days.
Your rights
Wherever you are, you can ask us to:
- confirm whether we hold information about you, and get a copy of it
- correct information that is wrong or out of date
- delete your information
- withdraw a consent you gave, at any time
- receive your information in a portable format
- object to a use that relies on our legitimate interest
Write to [email protected]. We reply within 30 days.
If you are in Brazil, these rights come from the LGPD, and you may also complain to the ANPD. If you are in the European Union or the United Kingdom, they come from the GDPR, and you may complain to your local data protection authority. If you are in Canada, you may complain to the Office of the Privacy Commissioner of Canada.
Children
This site is not directed to children, and we do not knowingly collect information from them.
